LGBTQI Youth are the future of our community… they deserve to be safe to explore, grow, and live without fear. Today we will showcase and celebrate success in the wake of obstacles, and raise support for our local groups to eradicate hate crimes and bullying in our LGBTQI youth population.

Please join The Music City Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence  for “H8′s A DRAG … LOVE is Bully-Free!” – an Anti-Bullying Fundraiser.  The event is on Friday, April 20th and will be an exciting evening of entertainment to benefit our LGBTQI youth at risk. A sparking drag show featuring RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 3 Winner RAJA, and Season 4 Cast Member The Princess, head up the show, along with our own Suzy Wong (Arnold Myint , Restaurateur/Top Chef Season 7) and Chyna, as well as popular Atlanta drag entertainers, Celeste Holmes and Summer Knight!

The Music City Sisters will be holding our 2nd Annual!! Pink Panty Puldown on February 11, 2012 at Stirrup Nashville.  This event is a raucous Valentine themed Underwear Auction and Beer Bash!  We’ll be auctioning off some exciting underwear – along with the chance to remove it from the model   We had a fantastic time last year, and some hot models!!  Look for a few of them to make a reappearance, and a few more tasty morsels…or…packages… to be added to the mix!

A Juried Exhibition of Queer Artists

In keeping with the our Order’s vows to expiate stigmatic guilt and spread universal joy, we add to our mission with the opportunity to recognize meritorious Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Inter-sexed, Family, Two-Spirit, Friends & Queer artists. The exhibition theme showcases works of art expressing queer lives; with their hopes, their experiences, their outlooks. A variety of elements coalesce into our community. What is your letter of the alphabet?

Alphabet Art is the only juried exhibition of queer artist outside of New York City or San Francisco. Jurors will select a First, Second and Third Place Champions of the Exhibition.

Alphabet Art 2011 will open Friday, September 9, 2011 with a reception and awards ceremony from 6:00 to 9:00 PM in the Great Room of OutCentral Cultural Center, 1709 Church St, Nashville, TN 37203. The exhibition will hang through September 24, 2011. Many of the exhibited works of art will be for sale by the artists.

On Monday, September 26th, the NOH8 Campaign will set up their studio at CAFE COCO in Nashville — giving locals a chance to participate in the NOH8 Campaign!

The photo shoot on MONDAY is scheduled to begin at 6:30PM and end at 8:30PM. The photo shoot will take place in Cafe Coco’s Back Room area. The NOH8 Campaign photo shoot will immediately follow a meet-and-greet with band RUN RUN RUN; the photo shoot itself will be followed by a special performance by RUN RUN RUN next door at The End at 10pm. Doors open for the show at 8:30pm and entry is $5.

Once upon a time in a land far, far away…well as far as Texas is from Tennessee…  There was a young, son of a preacher man, who knew there was more to life than anything he had yet beheld.  After gypsying around the South for a short time, our young man found his way to Nashville, TN.  It was here that Sister Wendy Yugitov was born.

The Music City Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence have extended the deadline until Monday, August 15, 2011 for artist’s submissions to the selection committee of “Alphabet Art 2011; Juried Exhibition of Queer Artists”. The selection committee will notify artists regarding acceptance in the 2011 exhibition on August 18th.

Submissions for Alphabet Art 2011 have closed. We will be posting Submission Guidelines and instructions for our next exhibitions in April 2012.

Artworks will be reviewed by a selection committee for inclusion in the exhibition. Artworks included in the exhibition will be presented to the jurors before the opening reception. Jurors will award one each; first, second and third place champions of the 2011 Exhibition.

Entry Parameters: Members of the Music City Sisters are not permitted to enter artwork. Artwork will be considered in all media, except film/video and/or performance. All artwork must have been produced within the last five years. Artwork may be offered for sale. Exhibitors are selected on the basis of the originality, artistic conception and quality of skill involved in the production of their work. Eligible artists must be 18 years of age and over, and living in the United States. The CD images must represent the artwork which will be exhibited if selected for inclusion in the exhibition. Artist’s entry will include a digital image file for each piece of artwork. The image file must be in one of three high resolution file formats: JPEG, TIFF or PNG each with minimum 150 dpi resolution and saved at no smaller than 3MB (or 3500 KB). The digital image of accepted artworks will be used in production of the exhibition catalog.

Submissions are limited to a maximum of two (2) pieces per artist. Submission of entry does not guarantee acceptance into the exhibition. Selected artwork must be wired, framed (if media applicable) and ready to hang. Framed two-dimensional pieces over 36 inches must have Plexiglas instead of glass. Sculpture and three-dimensional works must be less than 7 feet in height and able to fit through a standard door. Artist must provide a pedestal if their artwork requires one. Entered and accepted work cannot be substituted and all work must be available for the duration of the exhibition. The Music City Sisters’ Alphabet Art 2011 reserves the right to reject work delivered at the time of the exhibition that is not the artist’s accepted work.

A non-refundable submission fee of $10 per entry, payable to the “Music City Sisters,” will accompany the entry form.

Artist Statement: All artists should include a brief statement on the work submitted. Explain your choice of media, subject matter, training, influences, etc. Make sure you reference the work submitted rather than your biographical and exhibition information. This information will be use in the exhibition catalog.

Liability: Insurance protection is the responsibility of each artist. Neither the Music City Sisters nor Out Central Cultural Center; the gallery location, their directors, staff or volunteers nor anyone connected with the art exhibition, will be responsible for loss or damage however caused.

Shipping and Receiving accepted works:
Shipping: All work must be shipped via FedEx or UPS to Carter Witt, 2718 Mashburn Road, Nashville, Tennessee 37210-5440 and received by September 3, 2010.

In Person Delivery: A delivery location in Nashville, Tennessee will be provided upon request.

Notification: Artists will be notified of acceptance in the exhibition after August 18, 2011. All artists must include a telephone number on their entry form.

Sale of Artwork: The Music City Sisters encourages sale of exhibited artworks. If your artwork is not for sale, please mark NFS on your entry form. The Music City Sisters will graciously accept a donation from artists who sell works of art displayed in the exhibition.

Media/Public Relations Release:
The Music City Sisters reserve the right to use the digital images provided with the entry, of accepted and exhibited artwork for the purpose of PR and advertising.

The final step is a Label that will be displayed with the artwork. You may download the label here, print and attach it to the artwork when you send it.

Soak~A~Sister is a Beer Bust & Cookout – all for $10! This money will be used to help fund future events (to honour our Faerie traditions NOTAFLOF policy will be in place for food – but not beer – it is a charity event so pay if you can and donate even more if you want to)

It is also your chance to get a Sister in the face! We will be selling water balloons for $1 and you can select the Sister you would like to target, but be wary – if they catch it – they can throw it back!
