Pink Panty Pull-Down, 2014

image

On February 15, 2014, The Stirrup Nashville was filled with supporters of the Music City Sisters for their 4th Annual Pink Panty PullDown, a live underwear auction to support the Music City Sisters general grant fund.  It was an amazing time for all with 13 hot models including some members of the Nashville Grizzlies Rugby Team, Benji Brown from Food Networks “Worst Cooks”, and other hot men from Nashville including Nathan Mckellips, for his 4th year as a Pink Panty Model.

Performer Dementia graced us with his presence and brought some Boy Candy with him, Adult Film Star Ray Han. However it was the local Stirrup talent, (You Know Who!) who took the evening the second year in a row raising over $250 for a pair of Hustler Boxer Briefs!

Mid-evening a check for $1050.00 was presented to Streetworks, an organization that provides education, prevention, and care to those affected by HIV/AIDS on the inner-city streets of Nashville.

Remember and Hope: World AIDS Day, 2013

Word Aids Day, 2013

The Music City Sisters hosted a candlelit procession and vigil Sunday, December 1, 2013 in observance of World AIDS Day. As the gathered faithful walked down Church Street and stood over I65, they remembered those who have died from AIDS and stood as symbols of hope for those living with and affected by the disease.

Sister Eunice Bea Kidden said, “This event in particular reminds me that the Sisters are more than party nuns. I’ll get out there and dance with the best of them, but there is a holiness to our ministry that’s easy for me, and I suspect the community, to forget. Tonight we walk to remember the dead and to hope for the living.”

Make plans now to participate in next year’s World AIDS Day vigil on Monday, December 1, 2014.

The Bitches Ball, 2013

Sister Right at the Bitches Ball

Sister Right at the Bitches Ball

On October 26th 2013, Trax and original members of the famed Lockettes brought back the Bitches Ball, a fundraiser that was once a highlight of the years’ events in gay Nashville.  Upon its return, they named the Music City Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence the beneficiaries of the evening.

The night started with a parade of  Sisters, the bar staff, and patrons in their ghoulish best costumes.  Donations were pouring in immediately.

The show started and the girls worked every inch of the bar for tips – all of which also went to MCSOPI.  The Sisters even took the stage to resurrect Thriller/Heads Will Roll.

At the end of the night there had been over $500 raised that will now further the Sisters mission.

Thank you so much to Steven Kiss, Kimmie Satin, the staff of Trax, and to all the amazing performers including emcee Trinity Monroe.

2013 Nashville AIDS Walk

Sister Celia Lipps

On Saturday, October 5, 2013, local sneakers and heels made their way over the Korean Veterans Bridge and around LP Field when the people of Nashville, along with the Music City Sisters, walked to raise money for those living with or affected by HIV and/or AIDS. All walkers of life and on-looking tourists to the Music City noticed the powerful entrance of the veiled vibrants accenting the Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge, asking for answers to the usual questions of the who, what, why variety. Who are you with? What are you doing downtown? Why are you wearing those heels in a 5k walk? “Can I have my picture with you?,” was the question most popular of all; even former Second Lady of the U.S. Tipper Gore had to have her picture with the sisters, a highlight of the morning indeed. With Ann passing out colorful, foam sticker hearts to the wide-eyed and curious little ones and the rest of us simply being the loving sisters our intentions led us to be, it was evident the crowd really appreciated the joyful response and presence of the MCS.

The walk couldn’t have began with a more appropriate soundtrack, Katrina and the Waves “Walking on Sunshine.” It was hot, but nothing could remove our glittery, painted smiles; not even what could have been a discouraging moment during the walk-a-thon when a runner, not apart of the Nashville Aids walk, screamed “Faggots” next to the sisters. Ann replied “You got it!” The group walked on in pride.

The walk progressed with beautiful weather and more photo opportunities throughout and ended back at River Front Park as 80′s pop-singer Tiffany took the stage and ticket winning opportunities approached if you took your picture with Cardboard Cut-out Cher. Overall, it was an entertaining and successful event. We exceeded our fund raising goal of $1,000 reaching over $1,200! Nashville Cares came out $10,000 below what was hoped for, but collected over $220,000 and is still taking donation through the month of October. Thank you to all who help MCS reach our fund-raising goal and who continue to make efforts in supporting our ministry and local community. It was a blessing to be apart of the Nashville Aids Walk 2013. Let’s do it again next year!
